Book Local is a marketplace for sustainable tourism in Norway – a Norwegian alternative built on values like local ownership, transparent pricing, and revenue that stays where the experiences happen.

Book Local is a marketplace where tour operators and activity providers list their products on a shared discovery surface: booklocal.no. Every booking goes directly to the local operator running the experience — no OTA commission, no revenue extraction.

Book Local connects to Bilberry as the operational system. This means, if you are an existing user of Bilberry and wants to sell your products on Book Local, there is no new system to learn.

When you enable Book Local, your supplier profile and selected products become visible to travellers browsing booklocal.no. You stay in full control: choose which products to expose, toggle bookability per product, and revenue flows straight to your own payment gateway — no middlemen and no platform fees on top of your widget.

Your products appear alongside every other participating supplier in your region. Cross-discovery drives organic traffic.

  • Bookings go directly to your Bilberry — nothing changes in daily operations and no revenue share to an OTA.

  • You decide who gets to sell — other Bilberries, tour operators, and agents, including those on Book Local without their own Bilberry, can request to sell your products through their own channels. Each request must be approved by you which leaves you within full control.

It is free to sign up on Book Local, where you are present and can resell others products.

Viator, GetYourGuide, and Booking.com take up to 30% of the income from your activities — and the money leaves Norway. Book Local takes 10%, and every krone goes back to operating, developing, and marketing the Book Local marketplace that brings you more bookings. We only make money when you do.

Direct bookings through your own website or widget: 0% — just like before.

Bookings that come through Book Local: 10% for operating and further developing the marketplace.

❓FAQs

Does Book Local take 10% on all bookings?

No. Book Local takes commission only on bookings that actually go through the portal at booklocal.no. Bookings made directly on your own site, or between two connected Bilberry suppliers via the widget, are not subject to Book Local commission.

Who receives the payment?

You do. Book Local never routes money — payment goes directly to your own payment processor configured in Bilberry.

What can other suppliers see about me?

Anything shown on your public supplier page is visible to anyone. Private information (customer data, orders, internal settings) is never shared across suppliers.

How do I hide a product from Book Local?

Turn off the toggle on the product in the Book Local settings in Bilberry. The change propagates on the next sync between the systems.

How do I delete my Book Local account?

Please contact support for this. We disable immediately and delete after 30 days.
